Heathers the Musical Announces New York Cast for 2025 Run

The award-winning musical Heathers will make its highly anticipated return to New York this summer, with performances starting 22 June 2025 at New World Stages, Stage I (340 West 50th Street). The production will officially open in July 2025.

The Show’s Legacy and Adaptation

Based on the 1989 cult classic film starring Winona Ryder and Christian Slater, Heathers the Musical features a book, music, and lyrics by Kevin Murphy and Laurence O’Keefe. The musical originally premiered in 2014 and has since made waves in the West End, where it was performed at The Other Palace in 2018 and 2021. Following this, the show had a successful run back at The Other Palace from 2021 to 2023, and enjoyed multiple tours as well as a 2024 West End return.

New York Cast and Creatives

Lorna Courtney (known for her role in & Juliet) will play Veronica, the lead role of the iconic high schooler navigating her way through a dark and twisted world. Casey Likes (of Warriors) will star as JD, the brooding and rebellious love interest that shapes the musical's tragic core.

The show will be directed by Andy Fickman, who also helmed the UK version of the production. The musical will feature a new US cast, with additional creative team members expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

Ticket Sales and Information

Tickets for Heathers the Musical at New World Stages will go on sale on Monday, 31 March. Fans of the film and musical alike can expect to see all the dark humor, memorable songs, and unforgettable moments that have made this show a beloved cult hit.
