50 First Dates Musical to Premiere in London

A highly anticipated stage adaptation of the beloved romantic comedy 50 First Dates is set to premiere in London this September. Based on the 2004 film starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, the musical tells the heartwarming story of Henry and Lucy, whose relationship faces unique challenges due to Lucy's short-term memory loss.

About the 50 First Dates Musical Adaptation

The musical adaptation of 50 First Dates is written by David Rossmer and Steve Rosen, with the direction and choreography by multi-Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw. The production promises to bring the charm and humour of the film to the stage, with a fresh, musical twist.

Casey Nicholaw, known for his work on Mean Girls and The Book of Mormon, shared his excitement about the project, saying: “50 First Dates is one of the most beloved romantic comedies of all time, and has also been one of my favorites ever since I first saw it.” He went on to reveal that the film became his "go-to" airplane movie, and it was during these frequent viewings that the idea of adapting it for the stage began to take shape.
