Susan Sarandon and Andrea Riseborough to Star in Mary Page Marlowe at The Old Vic

The Old Vic is set to stage the UK premiere of Tracy Letts’ Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Mary Page Marlowe this autumn. The production will feature Oscar winner Susan Sarandon, making her UK theatre debut, and Oscar nominee Andrea Riseborough, returning to the stage for the first time in 15 years. Directed by Matthew Warchus, The Old Vic’s artistic director, this production will be presented in-the-round, offering audiences an immersive experience.

The Play: A Vivid, Time-Jumping Mosaic of One Woman’s Life

Mary Page Marlowe is a “vivid, time-jumping mosaic of one woman’s life,” with five performers portraying the titular character at different stages of her life. The play explores the complexities of one woman’s journey, shifting through multiple time periods and emotional landscapes.

Matthew Warchus’ Final Season at The Old Vic

Matthew Warchus shared his excitement about the play: “I’m delighted to be kicking off my final season at this wonderful theatre with this sensational new play from one of America’s greatest living writers. What a privilege to feature two such superlative actresses, Susan Sarandon and Andrea Riseborough, on the Old Vic stage, alongside a talented creative team. I’m also thrilled to return the Old Vic auditorium to one of my favourite configurations—in-the-round—for a truly immersive and unforgettable year of performances.”

All productions during Warchus’ final season will be staged in-the-round, adding a new dimension to the performances and creating a more immersive experience for the audience.
