Hampstead Theatre Announces 2026 Season Featuring Stanley Tucci and Kimberly Akimbo

Hampstead Theatre has announced its 2026 season, unveiling the European premiere of the Broadway musical 'Kimberly Akimbo', five major world or European play premieres, and Stanley Tucci’s London stage directing debut.

The new season showcases Hampstead Theatre’s continued commitment to new writing and international collaboration. Spanning both the Main Stage and Hampstead Downstairs, the 2026 programme introduces new works from Alexi Kaye Campbell, Richard Nelson, Aaron Loeb, David Pearson and Joshua Harmon. The theatre also confirms ongoing support for its ENGAGE programme, £10 ticket availability and the launch of a Young Friends scheme.

Kimberly Akimbo to Receive European Premiere

The Tony Award-winning musical 'Kimberly Akimbo', by David Lindsay-Abaire and Jeanine Tesori, will receive its European premiere in London following a celebrated Broadway run.

Bird Grove - World Premiere by Alexi Kaye Campbell

'Bird Grove', directed by Anna Ledwich, explores the life of George Eliot and themes of ambition, artistic identity and family bonds. It runs from 13 February to 21 March.

Stanley Tucci Makes London Stage Directing Debut

Stanley Tucci will direct the world premiere of 'Springwood', a new play by Richard Nelson based on a 1939 meeting between King George VI and President Roosevelt. The production runs from 19 June to 25 July.

New Premieres in Hampstead Downstairs

R.O.I (Return On Investment)

Aaron Loeb’s UK debut follows a venture capitalist evaluating a radical new invention. It plays from 6 March to 11 April.

Firewing

'Firewing', the debut play by David Pearson, follows a wildlife photographer and apprentice searching for the mythical Firewing.

We Had A World

Joshua Harmon’s 'We Had A World' receives its European premiere after a successful Off-Broadway run and explores 30 years of New York family life.
