Cast Announced for Top Hat at Chichester Festival Theatre
The eagerly anticipated production of Irving Berlin's Top Hat has announced its principal cast for the 2025 season at Chichester Festival Theatre. Directed and choreographed by Kathleen Marshall, this brand-new production of the classic musical will run from 14 July to 6 September 2025, with the official press night on 24 July.

A Star-Studded Cast: Broadway and West End Talent Unites
Phillip Attmore makes his UK debut as Jerry Travers. Known for his work in Shuffle Along and On the 20th Century on Broadway, Attmore is an award-winning performer.
Lucy St. Louis, famous for her role as Glinda in Wicked and Christine in The Phantom of the Opera, takes on the role of Dale Tremont.
Clive Carter, a three-time Olivier Award nominee for roles in Moulin Rouge, Come From Away, and Into The Woods, joins the cast as Horace.
Sally Ann Triplett returns to Chichester Festival Theatre as Madge, following her successful performances in Cabaret and Anything Goes.
Kathleen Marshall Brings Top Hat to Life
This production of Top Hat is directed by Kathleen Marshall, a celebrated director and choreographer who has received three Tony Awards for her choreography on Broadway. Her renowned work includes revivals such as Anything Goes, which earned nine Olivier nominations in 2022. Marshall is the first woman in Broadway history to have directed a play, directed a musical, and choreographed a musical.
The Iconic Top Hat Story
Based on the classic 1935 RKO film starring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, Top Hat tells the romantic comedy of Jerry Travers, a Broadway star who falls for model Dale Tremont, only to be mistaken for his producer, Horace. Amidst mix-ups and mistaken identities, the two find themselves entangled in a whirlwind romance set to the sounds of Irving Berlin’s immortal hits, including “Cheek to Cheek”, “Let’s Face the Music and Dance”, and the title track “Top Hat White Tie and Tails”.
