Nicola Roberts Joins Hadestown in the West End

Nicola Roberts, the Grammy-winning singer and member of Girls Aloud, will join the cast of Hadestown in the West End.

This highly anticipated role marks her return to the West End for the first time in over five years. Starting from 16 September 2025 until 18 January 2026, Roberts will take on the role of Persephone, joining the award-winning cast of Hadestown at the Lyric Theatre.

Hadestown in the West End: A Musical Masterpiece

Hadestown is a musical adaptation of Anaïs Mitchell’s folk opera, with music, lyrics, and book by the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter. Directed by Rachel Chavkin, the Tony Award-winning production blends Greek mythology with a modern twist, featuring a hauntingly beautiful score.

The production returned to the UK in 2024, for an open-ended run at the Lyric Theatre, where it received widespread critical acclaim. It was nominated for three WhatsOnStage Awards, including Best West End Production, with Melanie La Barrie winning Best Performer for her portrayal of The Fates.
