Imelda Staunton and Bessie Carter-Led Mrs Warren’s Profession Releases First Look Photos
First look photos have been released for the much-anticipated Mrs Warren’s Profession, starring WhatsOnStage Award-winner Imelda Staunton alongside her daughter, Bessie Carter. The pair will appear together on stage for the first time in this new revival of Bernard Shaw’s provocative play, with Staunton playing Mrs. Kitty Warren and Carter portraying Vivie Warren.
About Mrs Warren’s Profession
Mrs Warren’s Profession is one of George Bernard Shaw’s most controversial works. Banned for 30 years by the Lord Chamberlain, the play critiques the hypocrisy and corruption within the English class system. It tells the story of Mrs. Warren, a woman who runs a series of brothels, and her daughter Vivie, who is unaware of the truth behind her mother’s wealth.
This revival marks an exciting opportunity to witness the powerful performances of Imelda Staunton and Bessie Carter, who are making their stage debut together in this emotionally charged production.
